Hi,
I love surfing your blog to see all your wonderful creations. I'm always amazed by the sheer number of desserts you make. You seem to do it everyday. Do you share it with your friends or do you have a large family?
yes, you're right. This cake is moist n delicious. It has very very little flour but more on ground almonds. When you bite into it, it has a nice lovely crunchy feeling and taste of the almonds. The topping is almond paste, brush with egg yolk then grilled.
If I'm not mistaken "Montmartre Square" is a town. I got this recipe from the book "Paris Sweet" by Dorie Greenspan.
Yes this cake is nice and yummy. A mixture of nothing more than almond paste, eggs, butter and a splash of Grand Marnier and a bit of flour to hold everything together, it is like an old-fashioned one-bowl cake. I hestitated at first and finally decided to try to bake it and I've no regrets after that.
My hse consists of 4 adults. My 75 yr old mum doesn't eat much. So, the balance 3 has to struggle with it..hahaha...
Jokes aside, I give them away and I spent a lot of money on baking but I really enjoy it. While my friends go for shopping, I spent mine on baking cakes and thus no diamond ring.
Aunty, shan here. Just to tell you that Montmartre Square is a famous tourist spot in Paris. This is also the place that artist draw portraits to earn money.
Hi aunty lucy, just wondering whether you made the almond paste or bought it? I wanted to try this recipe when I saw it in the book too, but was told that almond paste is not available locally and the only alternative is to make it myself.

Hi Aunty
It's ok not to have a diamond ring, most importantly, you have a real kind heart.. You give all your bakes to charity homes : )
Yes Kate,
As long as you're happy and have a big heart...that makes the world.
