Hi Aunty,

Very like your muffin recipes. Just a bit confuse about different type of muffin making. Just few question about muffin would like to ask you.

Q1
What is the different between
Handmade(using melted butter)and Machine made muffin?
Which type of making have better taste?

Q2
Usually bakery shop will use which type of method?

Q3
Can I have Phoon Huat address?

Thanks.

Hi ching,

Handmade muffins taste more bready while the machine made are more like cupcakes (small butter cakes).
I think bakery shops will use both methods.
Phoon huat has a lot of branches. Key into:
www.phoonhuat.com and you can get the nearest one to your house.

Hi Aunty,

Macarons...again.:P Aunty, I am craving for your macarons already.

Aunty, there are so many lines on the macarons I think you can play tic-tac-toe on it.

Hi angela,

I've considered opening a bakery but everytime I open the door, I'm worried that nobody comes. I'm afraid that my hair will turn white.

Fillings for this macaron: Middle; white chocolate and outside rim is rose petal cream.

hi aunty! I try to kpo! I suspect the green kueh with black sauce is the kueh dadar, correct name? The 'sauce' is the gula melaka syrup? heehee..just guessing...

Hi Yochana,

Perfect! Perfect in color and in shape. Well done and Great job! Many bakers envy you.

Hi winnie and angela,

Kueh dadar has fried grated coconut. Must ask angela whether it is. I know the Indoesians has one called BIJI SALAK but it's not black sauce, it's white coconut milk.

Aunty, your hair may turn not from a lack of customers but from an overwhelming number of them. Why your customer base in Singapore alone is enough to garner a second shop.
First time hearing of rose petal cream.Am assuming dried rose petels are used?either way,I'm sure they are delicious.

Hi Aunty,

Just to add to the green kuih inquiry. I think is Kuih Lopis, made of glutinous flour, santan and green colouring and serve with palm sugar(gula melaka)syrup. This is a steam kuih and normally it's sprinkle/ roll-up with some grated coconut before serving with the syrup.

rgrds,

Aunty Yochana said...

Yes I think it should be Kuih Lopis.

hi dear all!

time to unveil the ans to the green kueh with black sauce inquiry.

i think devan is right. it should be kuih lopis cuz i managed to find a pic in the net (too bad i cant upload here) and it look similar to what i had when i was young except that the shape is triangular. maybe the kueh store aunty tryin to be different. but it indeed left a very deep impression in my mind.. hee...

now i'm on my journey in search of kuih lopis to bring back my childhood memories. if any1 here has a good store to recommend pls let me know. or if aunty yo has the recipe pls do share too so i can satisfy my craving anytime. hee..

many thanks to all who provided the helpful information here!

cheers
