Such feast for the eye! I would not dare venture into such baking frenzy yet as I am new to baking. Only dared a peach upside down cake which you can see in my blog. Hahaha .. my first ever bake! Thanks for sharing all your goodies.

Hi Yochana,

All your snow skin mooncakes look so lovely, I saw those snowskin mooncakes selling at most shops look not so oily, but my a bit oily. Don't know where go wrong. It is because of my mixing? Thanks

hi aunty yochana, what did you use for the filling of this rainbow mooncake. It looks really nice, mind sharing the recipe?

hi anonymous,

sometimes it's due to your lotus paste and not the skin. The oil from your lotus paste can seep through the skin and thus making it oily.

Hi Yochana,

I made baked mooncakes but why does the skin separates from the lotus filling? It falls apart when cutting.. is it because the lotus paste had been chilled and thus became drier? Should the lotus paste be stored at room temp? Many thanks, Anita

Dear Aunty Lucy,

Would like to consult you can i add durian flesh in custard filling to transform into durian filling for snow skin mooncake? (like GW PARK HOTEL TYPE) or could it be the same like durian puff filling? rgds/Yvonne

Hi Anita,

You kept your lotus in the fridge? It could be due to the coldness or maybe your lotus paste is too oily.
