Hi, another masterpiece!! all those layers so uniformed... this cake sure requires lots of patience and time to produce.... so that's where all the yolks went after those lovely macaroons you made the other day, right?? is this one for own consumption? may I have a slice?:) btw, thanks for the info about the cake spatula - Anita
ReplyDeleteThis is just amazing. If you never tell me it's a cake, this would have passed as a watermelon.

Hi Aunt Yo...may i know how long u grill for each layer? top n bottom heat? or top heat only? thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Peng,
ReplyDeleteI used grill mode - about 10 mins each layer.
rgds
Hi Aunt Yochana.
ReplyDeleteThis is so COOL! It's so beautiful! I realised the layering is not very distinct, as in normal lapis cake. Does it mean that you didn't grill each layer till it's very browned? Even though it's not very distinct, I can still see that it's a lapis cake. I shall try it one of these days... Heehee...:)
Jane
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteIf you want the lapis to be very distinct, grill longer till it's more brown.

hi aunt yo!

What a mouth watering cake! Yochana, just wondering, do you grill the layers from the first right to the last? You did'nt use the oven heat at all? Some teachers use oven for the first and last layer. If so, bake at what temperature? Sorry for asking so much.
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteI used oven heat for the 1st and last layer of the cake too...
rgds
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your work. need some advice. Can i use a small oven to bake cake lapis?i've tried few times but it didn't goes well.the below part and all the sides are so hard. Was that because i bake it too long(for every layer) & the temperature was too high?some more the colour was not the same as i wanted it to be though i used the same colour based on each recipe.I really admire what you did and wish i can do the same.Thanks.
Rgds,
Sally
Hi sally,
ReplyDeletehow small is your oven? What brand is it?
