yes Yoo lee,

Must use the korean QQ flour. it's a premix. Very tasty and chewy. Just microwave it and it turns super soft again.

Hi Ying,

A blog friend of mine bought it as a gift for me. It's from Hong Kong.

Hi Xan,

Yes, it's the same premix as Florence.

Try Seoul Mart in Singapore. Read Florence's blog.

Hi Aunty Lucy,
Hope you don't mind me posting here. The one from Seoul Mart is called Bakery Homemade Sesame Glutinous Bread Mix, as mentioned in Florence's blog. Avail in parkway parade basement. However the baking instructions are different from Florence's premix. The staff translated to me in brief that for 1 packet of 250 g bread premix, we need to add 1 egg (ard 60g) and 70 ml milk. After mixing, roll into balls of 40 g, then bake at 180 deg for about 30 to 40 mins, taking out at intervals to spray with water. Hope this will help those interested in baking with this premix from Seoul Mart as baking instructions on box are only in Korean. Warmest regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

It sounds more like the one Florence bought.

How's the taste like?

For this mochi bread, it's sweet and chewy and if you microwave it for a few secs just before eating, it so nice and soft.

O.K. I will try the one from Seoul Mart. I have to make an effort to go there.

Hi Aunty Lucy,
The one I bought from Seoul Mart is different from Florence's. I couldn't find her premix here but I chanced upon the one from Seoul Mart so I just gave it a shot. It looks exactly like hers and your pictures too but taste wise I am not sure if it is the same. The one I baked had a very crispy coating and the inside was very soft but not sweet. I liked it. I suppose one can add sugar n more sesame seed if preferred. Once left overnite, one has to microwave it to make it soft else it's so chewy you can't even bite into it. Unfortunately, Seoul Mart does not have any other outlets yet except the one in Parkway. Warmest regards. Chris

Hi Chris,

Sounds the same tho... I will definitely give the one from Seoul Mart a try soon. My cousin bought it for me....*wink*

I will give you the feedback soon.

hi auntie,
i had tried the korean qq bread recipe but the skin is not as nice as florence's cuz its not cracked nicely. May i know wad is the problem behind it? thx

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi wendy,

Which mochi flour did you use? From H.K or from Seoul Mart in Parkway Parade? I think the trick to the cracks : Spray water... and it will also make the crust crispy and inside will be soft.
