hi aunty thank u so much for the recipe. going to try this weekend. btw can i ask what shd be the texture of the chocolate lembab cake that was posted earlier?? i made 3 times and they are quite dense , not fluffy. also always crack in the centre. is it the oven temperature or over creaming? thanks ...
diana
Hi aunty yochana,
May I know where or how to get pandan paste?
Thanks
Jacqueline
Hi Jacqueline,
Buy from Sun Lik at 33, Seah St.
rgds
Hi diana,
Don't overmix your mixture...it will cause the cake to turn dense.

diana
Hi aunty yochana
May i confirm, this recipe uses 155 gm cake flour or hk flour, right?
thks and regards
octopusmum
Hi octopusmum.
Both works as well. Use what you have at home. Even plain flour works well too.

Halo aunty,
I'm doris.. u remember me?? i alway have question to ask in some other of your recipe..
ok i try this out and taste great and something like "kai tan koh" right?
actualy i dont have the mould like yours or something similar but i decided to use egg tart mould and turns out well too!
one more thing aunty, when u say fold in the flour, just use the spatula to mix it well and no need to use electric beater to do it, right? (sori ah ask this question)
why i ask cos i've tried out your chiffon cake so many many.... times but not satisfied with the result. it rise and break on top or it laugh like fat koh (break from the side) hope u get wat i mean.
Hope to hear from u sifu!
TQ
Hi TQ,
Probably your chiffon cake is too near the heat so it cracks on top or your tin is too small causing the cracks.

Dear aunty Yochana,
I tried this kuih of yours last Sunday but it didn't turn out nice. The kuih shrink once cold, and the cake is dense, not fluffy at all. May I know what could be the reason?
The taste is nice though... My hubby is very supportive, he finished them all anyway.... =)
Thanks & Regards,
Mei
Hahaha..Mei, you have a strong supporter there.
diana did it very well. You can read her comments tho..
I think it's your method of making that causes the cake to become dense. shrinkage is quite common tho.

Dear aunty Yochana,
Do you think it is because I overmix it? How long should I whisk the mixture? I have zero knowledge and experience in baking, so don't really know how to make a nice one..... =(
By the way, do you conduct any baking class? I would love to join if you have one....
Thanks and Regards,
Mei
Hi Mei,
Definitely you have overmixed. You have to learn how to fold lightly .

Hi Aunty
I tried this recipe before but did not look as nice as yours.
Can I check when you said pandan paste is it liquid or really paste. As I always use the pandan paste flavour liquid I bought at phoon huat.
Thanks
Hi qing
It's slightly thick but in liquid form. I've not tried those from Phoon Huat. I'm using those that I bought from Sun Lik.

Aunt yochna, i tried this recipe however, i have difficulty taking out the bohlus from the moulds. as a result, i dont have a nice flower shape like yours even though i greased the moulds first before pouring the batter in it. hope you can advise.
Hi aunty,
Can I omit the 25gm of pandan juice? Do it need to substitute the omitted 25gm of pandan juice to something else? Pls advise.
Cheers
Kate
