Good Morning Aunty. Very nice marbling effect. Guess it's done by "layering"? You're always so inspiring :)

Hi Aunty Yochana,
Love marble cake very much. In fact, I just bake it 2 days ago using 1 recipe from the net. But when mixing the batter, I felt that the texture is not too right. Eventhough, the taste is there, but I feel that the texture is rough and bit damp. Can you post your recipe here, pls???
BTW, have you decided to open a baking class?? Remember asking you this and you said must get enough pple. I am still looking for your open class....keep us inform, ok? thank you very much....

Regards,
Esther

Hi Aunty,

Yesterday while preheating my oven, it had a short circuit and "explode", it caused the whole block to black out, not once but twice, Oh gosh!! I hope no one stay at my block. Anyway, I need a new oven now. This marble cake looks moist, is it the same recipe like your Fly African? Rds, Kium

Hi kium,

Oh gosh....two years ago I switched on my oven and baked the whole day and in the end my circuit caught fire and the whole block of condominium had a black-out. I mananged to extinguish the fire with a hand-held fire extinguisher and guess what? I was totally covered with all the ashes that came out of the fire extinguisher and could only see my lips....

This is a butter marble cake whereas the Fly African is using Egg white.

rgds.

Hi Aunty Yochana,

Just stumble on your blog 2 hours ago and have been on it all this while. Love most of your recipes and would like to try them. My daughter has been asking me to bake her a moist chocolate cake (something like Awfully Chocolate's). Do you by any change have a similar recipe? Would appreciate if you could kindly email it to me asap - asngch@yahoo.com.sg. Thanks alot, Fiona

Thanks Aunty Yochana for the quick response. Do you mean the Awfully Chocolate Banana Cake? Btw, what is Non-Dairy Whip Cream? Love looking at your blog, practically everything is so well made. You must be a very patient and gentle lady.

Hi fiona,

yes yes it's awfully chocolate cake.

Non-dairy cream - Value pride but if you want to make mousse , use "Pour N Whip". Both can get from Sun Lik at 33, Seah Street.

Thanks a million, you're really very helpful. Will try to make the cake this weekend.
Tried making the Chocolate Macaroons this morning, but it was a flop. It's not smooth and didn't have feet, but tasted quite ok :(

hi fiona,

Don't worry about the feet thingey, that happened to me in the beginning....

Sorry Aunty Yochana, one more question for you. The chocolate filling used in the Awfully Chocolate cake isn't the same as that used in your Awfully Choc. Banana Cake - it's as though they added some agar agar or something else. Do you have similar recipe for their filling? Thank you for your time.

Hi fiona,

are you referring to Cocoa Fudge - Lana Cake shop? The one that used Hoon Kwe flour?
