Apples Allure Mooncakes

This looks so pretty and sweet. I'm only successful at snowskin, if only I can be half as good as you at making mooncakes. I have a question aunty hope you can help. Do you leave your traditional mooncakes for a few days before eating? Coz I hear that you need to let the skin absorb the oil first to make it soft. But last year I tried that, they became mouldy before I got to eat them!

I eat my mooncakes as soon as it's cooled. Mine don't need to wait for 24 hours.
Freshly baked mooncakes are normally a bit dry and it takes a few hours to release some oil onto the skin. Eat them the next day for better flavour and texture.
