hello aunty, i have a question about macaroons. is it essential that they are baked on silpat? is silicon sheets okay?

Hi Mary,

It's not compulsory to use silpat mats. In the beginning, I used teflon paper and silicon paper to bake and still succeds. But then again, I would say that silpat gives a better result.

aunty, may i ask, those candy u used are 'hundreds and thousands' is it? have you seen those that come only in a mixture of two colours eg. pink and white, or yellow and orange instead of so many colors mixed together? thanks!

Hello Aunty Yochana,

I am really impressed with the goodies you come up with.

I have one question, do you have like a special macaroon maker? how do you get sucha lovely shape out of them?

Cheers,
Danny

Hi Danny,

There's no special equipment tho... What I used was a plain round nozzle and a piping bag.
