Hi Aunt Lucy,
May I know for how long you bake this at? Mine tend to be underbaked.
Your macarons are so even and round for all the sizes... so envy you... mine was like having all sort of sizes.. guess i must go work hard on my piping skill... Can i ask you, for your hazelnut macarons, did u actually replace all the almond flour to hazelnut flour or u just sub in a bit? Thanks.
Thanks for your prompt reply :) No i didn't.. i used the silicon 1 from Phoo Huat but then i find it no good cos the macarons will stick to it and the shell will breaks.. so i just used normal baking paper... may i know where u get your silpat mat from? Thanks
You can buy the silpat mat from Shermay cooking school at chip bee Gardens, same row as Pantry Magic . It's about S$49-00+ each. It gives you a very good result and the macarons will be round. You can use the silpat for many other baking like finger sponge or meringue.
Mummy Lucy this looks so good...next time must camp outside your house also so you can throw some to me!! You sprinkled with liquid colouring? Did you mix with water and blot/spray it on? Just a guess...
I've written to you 2 or 3 times but have yet to receive your reply. Just to let you know that I discovered your blog very recently and my 1st attempt at baking pandan chiffon cake was a great success and so far have done it 3 times successfully.
I would like to try our yr other recipes eg the macaroons and orange yogurt muffin etc so how do I get them? Rgds.

Jacelyn,
To bake macarons, you have to judge the size, height and the quantity piped onto the tray. I baked between 11 to 13 mins. at 160C.
