Hi Aunty,

How are you today? Just wondering, how do you shape these macaroons to look so nice and smooth? Do you have a special mould for it? Thanks!

Thanks sophia for your comments.

mamafami, I'm O.k...thanks for your concern. I just use a plain nozzle to pipe out the batter. No special mould except for the nozzle.

Wow, Lucy those macarons are so perfect! You are really good in baking.

Hi Glad,

Thanks for the compliments but I must learn from Karen how to bite it nicely in order to snap a cross-section of the macaron. Everytime I bite, it looks messy.

Hi Lucy,

Your macarons look so nice and evenly shaped. What size of nozzle do you use? Today is my 2nd attempt, and I had a little feet, so happy but surface looks like plastic. What went wrong? Also, when the batter was quite runny when I piped, quite difficult. Any tips appreciated.

Warm regards,
Wendy

Hi Wendy,

As what Karen said, it could be due to your icing sugar. Must buy icing sugar that is pure and not mixed with cornstarch. surface looks like plastic means what?? blur blur...

I used a 1 cm plain nozzle.

hi aunty, how are you? your macaroons look so pretty. i think its such an innovative idea to sandwich them with two-colour shells. i wonder how a black and white one will look? hee hee.

by the way, do you know where i can buy an immersion blender? it's sort of like, a handheld blending tool where you can puree soups or fruits like that, without having to use a food processor or blender.

Hi marissa,

thanks for your compliments. O.K. I will make a black and white macarons soon. It should taste wonderful.

Try Best Denki and see whether they have what you want.

Hi Lucy,

May I know which brand of icing sugar doesn't contain starch? I bought from PH and I think it contain starch. The surface looks very plastic unlike yours nice and smooth. If batter is runny, can you teach me how to pipe evenly? Sorry, so many questions wan.

Hi there! How are you?
Lovely macarons you have there. They look absolutely fabulous. Last weekend I attempted to make some macarons myself and I failed terribly. My batter was extremely, extremely watery(runny) and the shape was so so uneven with little peaks protruding out. How did you get such a perfect shape? Would you mind sharing with me the recipe? Thank you.
