i really admire your ability to bake such nice,creative and of course yummy desserts! by browsing through your blog it inspires me to bake! :) Hopefully i'm able to bake like you one day!

By the way, do you know how to make lamingtons?

thanks for your kind words.

Lamingtons? yeah..that's easy. Bake a sponge cake, cut into squares. Dip into cocoa syrup and then coat with desiccated coconut.

Hi anonymous.

cocoa syrup is also called Chocolate icing:

10 gm. butter
80 ml. milk
320 icing sugar
25 gm. cocoa powder

Melt butter in a bowl over simmering water. Stir in milk and sifted icing sugar and cocoa powder. Stir till icing is a coating consistency.

Hi Mei,

Kek Batik has a few versions. One is using biscuits to do it and another is using scrapes of leftover cakes...which one are you referring to?
