there's no brand to this finger biscuits. I found it in one of the shops in Woodlands...a provision shop. They sell in a big tin and just weigh whatever you require.
I think there shouldn't be any problem with using the chocolate fingers after all, the base is chocolatey in colour. My only fear is that it might not stick as well as the plain ones.
I tried this cake today and it was delicious. I halfed the recipe n baked it in a 6"x9" rec tin. I realised that i have to use plain finger biscuits but instead i m using the chocolate fingers (salah beli) but luckily the cake turned out ok. Anyway, i would suggest the plain fingers if anyone's plan to try out this cake. About the Kek Lumut, can i reduce the sugar content? Thanks
What recipe did you use for this cake? I am thinking of making it but couldn't find plain chocolate fingers. Can i not use salty japanese cookie similar to chopsticks?

Aunty Yochana,
This is another beautiful cake. What did you use for the white circle effect? Is this similar to the horlick cake?
Thanks.
Dizzy
HI Dizzy,
The white circles are finger biscuits.

Good Morning Aunty Yochana,

Thank you Aunty Yochana.

Hi dizzy,
Think the Japanese type is a bit on the thin side although you can still use it. It will become dots instead of pearl...should be ok I think.

Aunty Yochana,
Can I use kek lumut for this cake and just add in the finger biscuits?
Thank you for sharing and your advise.
Dizzy
hi dizzy,
I don't think you can cos the kek lumut is quite soft and the kek lumut is not easy to make too.
