Hi cecilia,

I use fondant to cover the cake and rolled icing for the baby.

For Marshmallow fondant:

16 ozs. marshmallow
32 ozs. icing sugar
some shortening

Microwave marshmallow and knead with icing sugar and shortening till smooth.

For rolled icing, you can buy ready made ones from Sun Lik.

Hi sally,

Yeah..I felt the same way as you as I looked at the baby but it's my first time painting the eyes, no experience. Will continue to practice till I get a cuter face.
Thanks Sally..

Aunty Yochana,

How shortening did you use? How many ounces of marshmallow did you get out of this recipe? What size cake can you cover?

Zillion thank you.

Hi Dizzy,

my recipe is above. Use Crisco vegetable shortening. I cover an 8" round cake.

Aunty,

How did you made the 'buttercream icing' to paste the fondant over the cake ?

The baby is made by gum paste eg ?

Can I pls know where did you purchase all your fondant cake design's colourings ?

Thanks
Maha

Aunty Yochana said...

Maha,

I made the fondant myself and added colouring into it.

Butter cream recipe is in my blog.
