Hi anonymous,

I pity you going round people's blog to leave nasty comments especially on a day like today: Happy Chinese New Year to you anyway.

You may say that life is boring for me and I'm obsessed over baking but I would like to tell you something: "You're dead wrong"!! Life is so exciting for me because besides baking and cooking, I have other hobbies too but how can I expose to ppl like you??? BTW, do you know me??? How do you know that I don't have other hobbies.

My obsession on baking: truth is: I feel so excited each day when I bake. I'm basically a very very happy person. I feel so excited and happy when I slice my cakes and see the result ...woah..it's like such great happiness for me. I just can't express my happiness and feelings for it and you should see my face and satisfaction as I slice the cake. I feel a sense of happiness when I gave my bakes to children at Grace Haven - a charity home for helpless children.

Whoever you are....I pity you cos' even in baking, you find it so pathetic... Guess you are one of those who is jealous of what people can do and afford. Don't go round leaving nasty remarks..you won't be blessed with such deed. One good deed deserves another...so I'm quite blessed with a happy family and that is all I wish for in life.

Have a nice day anonymous...whoever you are. Try baking a simple cake to enrich your life. It's also another way to destress yourself and you seems to be under tremendous stress ...Hahahah...have a Wonderful Chinese New Year.

And when friends praise said the cake taste so good, it's another excitement and happiness.

Hi anonymous, I guess your life are too boring and got no hobby, only go round people blog to leaves comment. So pathetic, don't you feel stressful?

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi Xan and Amelia,

I also pity this anonymous. You know lah...how excited we are when our bakes turn out good and beautiful. How to express ha? Very very happy and excited. Poor anonymous...don't know how exciting it is to bake.

Thanks xan and amelia to give your feedback on how you feel when you bake.

Lucy, you're right, the excitement and happiness to see our bakes turn out so beautiful and so good it's hard to express except one got to bake it herself/himself. You can't buy this happiness with money.
And friends always praise "wow! this also you can bake or cook? See, we are so bless that we can bake and cook without feeling pathetic.

I think "Anonymous" dun understand the joy of baking. He/She also dun understand that we also get our joy from the people that eat our bakes.

Yo Lucy, never invite me to your open house meh.. kekekek..

Eileen

anonymous,

I think you are the one that's boring and pathetic.

You don't know what you are missing without having a meaningful hobby !

If you can't find some meaningful and healthy hobby, then please go and sleep then to go round leaving unpleasant remarks on other people's blog!

Like what Joanne said, GO AND GET A LIFE !

It's a pure, priceless joy when you see your cakes coming out of the oven. Something no one can understand unless you try baking a cake yourself.

Hi Aunty Lucy,
Happy New Year to you and your familly! Wow, what a spread!!

Hi anonymous,
What's wrong with being obsessed with baking and cooking?? **eyes rolling**

As long as we prepare our food with love and passion, it's GOOD food for our family and I don't regard this as pathetic.

Thumbs up for all bakers!!!

Lucy,

Nice open house, wish I could be there to sample all your lovely creation.

As for the anon, please don't go to people blogs and leave nasty comment, it's hurtful for everyone to read, it just show what a person you are inside. It's Chinese New Year and I would like to wish you happiness for this pig year!

Anonymous said...

Hi

Aunty Yochana- Happy New Year!! Your buffet spread is so wide that by taking one small bite each is enough to fill you up. Great work!

Anonymous - we have something healthy to be obsess about. But your obsession is more pathetic, scorn by all and appreciate by none. Poor thing.

Regards
Sulin

yochana! is that really an OPEN HOUSE? I want to go!! haha. :P

anyway you're amazing not boring! ur blog keeps me super entertained everyday! (:

oh at first i thought anonymous was being sarcastic. haha.

Happy Chinese New Year Yochana! Thanks for showing us the impressive spread of food you have for CNY. Great job!!! *clapz clapz* Must have really taken you a lot of effort and time. But I know you definitely feel that everything is worth it, especially when you see the end-product, and also when like-minded people appreciate your bakes.

To anonymous: Just wanna let you know that there is no such a thing call boring hobby. As defined in dictionary.com, a hobby is "an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation". Different pple have different hobbies, what one may find interesting may not appeal to another. And different pple may find solace in different things. And I actually think that it's really a fortune to have a hobby.
I can understand that you may not find baking a pleasure, but I find it unacceptable when you slam pple who love baking just because you find it boring. This is unfair. Please respect others... and you will gain respect from others.

Hi Aunty Yochana,

Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Baking is therapeutic. I love baking no matter how tired I am, I will have the satisfying feel after I saw how my cakes turned out. I guess you will have the same feeling too.

Anonymous, YOU ARE SO WRONG.

Cheers,
Alice

Dear Lucy,

So sorry that you have to deal with some nasty people in the cyber world. They just don't understand the wonderful feelings of baking and cooking. It is a hobby for me and I guess for you too. Just ignored people like that. I think 'anonymous' is just full of jealousy of what you can do.

Anonymous, if you don't like what Lucy is doing why are you here? Go somewhere else.

Anyway, Lucy Happy New Year to you and your family. Don't let people like this bring you down and keep on baking. There are so many people out there who love your baking.

Dear Yochana ... I would like to wish you and your family a very Happy and Healthy New Year! Thank you very much for making MY Day with your delicious bakes. You brighten up my days (and getting everything else around me soaked) with my drools ...waiting to see what great stuff you are going to bake next.

Please do not be upset with people who do not know how to Appreciate Life and People Around Us.

Do feel sorry for Anonymous because all he/she knows or understand is hatred and in order to feel good he/she has to belittle others.

Best Wishes to All ... even you Anonymous.

Hello,

Just continue doing whatever makes you happy and disregard nasty comments. Don't sweat it and leave it at that. Life is too short to ponder over undeserving individuals.

Hello dear friends,

I'm really touched with all your comments and I certainly will not allow nasty ppl to put me down. All of us enjoy baking and I know all of you shared the same love and passion with me.

Aunty Yochana,
Happy Chinese New Year!
Your baking has always been a motivation to me. I always show your bakes to my husband and he would ask me to bake something like yours. Off course i cant make it but it has given me a motivation to improve myself.

There are people who think they can attack people verbally because we cant know their identity. These people really need to get a life...sad indeed!!!

Please continue your passion. YOU SHOULD bake more!!!

Dear Yochana,

Just want to tell you, You are TOTALLY BLESSED & LOVED! You have sooo many friends coming to your defense.

You are definately doing something right!!!

Continue your excellent work!!!

Dear Aunty Yochana,

Happy Lunar New Year to you and your family!

I can't believe the spread you have there for your CNY open house! Your guests must be extremely lucky to be able to taste all you bakes!

My hubby even commented that your layered cakes are sooo interesting!

As for the pathetic fellow, just ignore him/her. If he/she don't like cooking and baking, why in the world he/she wanna come to your blog right? Maybe he/she is a sour grape and just red-eyes over your fantastic looking and tasty goodies.

To me, cooking and baking are the best hobbies I've ever cultivated! Cooking and baking is a form of creative art too!

Hello Yochana ji,

Wish you a very happy Chinese New year and don't bother about all the pathetic comments that people leave on your blog. The reality is they are jealous of u because what you can do not everyone can.

Some anonymous people tried to do this with me as well when I won a Food contest on 'Emeril Live', the TV show. I think these type of people are jealous of why others are winning and why they cannot.

So keep up the good work, we are there for you. Infact, I am a big fan of you.

Thanks, Nidhi.

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi Nidhi,

first of all, congrats to you for winning in the contest.

I'm glad you understand how it is like when someone pass nasty remarks on your blog.

Hi Lucy,
What a spread for your buffet lunch. Wishing you and your family a blessed and prosperous CNY.

To the anonymous, please note that different people have different hobbies. Even if we have to cook and bake for the rest of our life, we will find our life meaningful cos we love and enjoy what we are doing. Just to share, I have arthritis. Whenever I have a flare up, I would have to stop my baking hobby cos all my joints are in pain. That is when I find my life is boring and meaningless. So please don't go round leaving hurting comments. Go and find something you enjoy doing, as life can never be boring when one's healthy. Happy CNY to you too.

Rgds,
Anc.

Hi Lucy

I have been reading your blog for the past months, ever since I started baking. Indeed baking is not boring at all espeically if your are baking for your friends and loved ones, and even so for a good deed, like you, giving your bakes to charity organisations. Even if my bakes turn out to be a disaster, I still feel excited to try it out again. I made those jellyhearts which was really good. Thanks for sharing all your recipes!

Cheers!

To the person who left the mean remark: You don't know Aunty Yochana. Please do not judge her. She is a very talented and capable person who is passionate about her craft. Read all the comments after yours...she is very loved by other people and very generous and kind to share her expertise. Hope that you will find something you are passionate about too and hope that you have a happy New Year.

Hi! I just drop by today and was shocked reading anonymous nasty remarks. How could someone said that??
We are not ashamed to say that we are obsessed with baking and cooking. In fact, we are proud and happy to say that we love baking and cooking. It's our hobby and there's nothing pathetic about us. It's not easy to be a good baker and chef. It takes years to master the art. The feeling is great when you see your family and friends enjoying your bakes.
Anonymous, if you feel that cooking and baking is pathetic, why do u drop by Aunty Yochana's blog? Hers is a food blog whereby all of us who loves to bake drops by daily to enjoy the sight of her bakes. Go somewhere else. What matters most is that Lucy is happy.

Lucy, Happy CNY to you and your family.

Regards
Esther (KL)

Once again, thank you.
