  17. Hi Aunty Yochana

I tried this recipe today and the buns turned out well. However I had a lot of trouble kneading dough (A) with the mixer as it was very tough. Can I just add all the ingredients for (A) & (B) then knead it until pliable and smooth? I also found that there was a lot of leftover butter sugar topping. Perhaps I should halve the recipe the next time.

  18. Hi!

I tried making this bread recipe.
I didn't make butter buns, but used the dough to make cheese and kaya buns.
I kneaded the dough manually. The buns turned out wonderfully soft, it's soft until the next day. Glad I found one recipe w/o softeners or improvers that can yield such good result.
    Thanks aunty!

  19. Hi Aunty Yochana

I am a big fan of your blog. I tried this butter sugar bun recipe but had trouble with dough (A). It was very tough and difficult to knead. Can you tell me why? Also, do I need to punch down / deflate the dough after the first proofing?

Thanks. I look forward to your reply.
