For fruity bread, can u get the wheel pan? if not, use the sandwich loaf pan. about 8" x 4"

Hi aunty

I hve another qn abt the fruity bread : 1 recipe of fruity bread will yield 1 or 2 wheel pan loaf of bread? Tks

Aunty Yochana said...

hi mj,

it yields 2 fruit bread. You can buy the wheel pan from Ailin Bakery and their shop is situated in Geylang, the old Yokoso.

Hi aunty,

my dough is also abt 3 days old, thought it smelled a bit odd, or maybe it's the yeast?!

Aunty Yochana said...

HI Mj,.

it normally has a little wine smell because of the fermentation.

Hi aunty

I finally baked the fruity bread last week. I baked it in a loaf pan and covered it wif aluminium foil, is it ok? Wheel pan is out of stock....The bread was yummy but it turned hard and dry the next day, somethg like gardenia bread at the end of the expiry date. Why is that so?

Aunty Yochana said...

hi mj,

the bread should last at last 3 - 4 days withour preservative. Did you cut down any ingredients? Did you knead the dough long enough to get a soft and pliable dough?

Hi aunty

I followed yr recipe to the dot. I kneaded the dough according to the length of time specified and managed to get a soft and pliable dough. It was still edible the nxt day, except that it was not as soft.
