Dear Auntie yochana, That was another one of your creative touch. Just to check with you with the cream cakes how do stick the sliced almonds or nuts on the side of the cake (for e.g. your durian cream cake)
My dad told me to stop baking cos my baking cakes turned 'not good'.After found your blog,I read your Q&A in comments.Last Sat I decided to roll up my sleeves and made muffins.BINGO..yeah,my children said they're delicious.
firstly you have to cream the whole cake with cream. Pour the nuts or chocolate into a mixing bowl. Take a full handful of nuts or chocoalate and then slap it onto the side of the cake (already creamed cake) and it will stick.

Hi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteYes you can use butter instead of shortening. Frankly speaking, cookies made with shortening are less fragrant and less tasty then using Butter.
