Almond Polvoron (Milk Cookies)
Ingredients:
2 cups Plain flour
1 cup Milk Powder of your choice
3/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup any nuts of your choice
Method:
(1) Fry plain flour in a wok over low heat till flour turns light brown and cooked. Sieve flour into a mixing and let it cool.
(2) Mix in the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
(3) Press into a polvoron plunger and push it out. If you do not have a plunger, a small cake ring will work as well.
(4) Chill it till harden before wrapping.
(5) Leave at room temperature before serving.

Dear Aunt Yochana,
You can also try to coat this polvoron with chocolate. usually make this around Christmas for giveaways.
Regards.

Hi aunty, thanks so much for the recipe. Erm, other than frying the flour, there's no more baking? That's so cool, may be can make these and give to my helper :)
Hi Yuri,
yes this is very easy to make. I hate to eat milk powder but this Polvoron makes me eat the milk powder unconsiously.

Hi Aunty Lucy,
Just to check with you on the "cup" measurement. do i need to do conversion to gm or just use the measuring cup? if measuring cup, what cup are u using in your recipe? Could you kindly help? Thks in advance for the recipe. Regards, Chris
Hi Chris,
I did not convert to gm. I just use a cup of measure. Scoop out the flour and give a little shake to level it. During frying add in a little more flour cos it will be lighter and drier after frying. For this Polvoron, plus minus is not a problem. This is a Non-failure Recipe.

Dear Aunty Yochana,
Thanks so much for the recipe. Now I have another way to give my son more Milk product (i.e. Calcium).
thank you very much for the recipe aunty! much obliged.
hi aunty do i have to chop the nut or grind the nut into powder? what about if i use peanuts does it taste good? thanks
Hi anonymous,
you can use any nuts which you like - chopped it up coarsely so that when you bite into it, it has a crunchy feeling.

No baking aunty? Easier work lah. Can i use a star shaped cookies cutter(quite big shape) if i dont have a plunger?where did u get yours? can we add cranberry bits? You're so kind aunty, sharing recipes with others. God bless you!!
Hi ash,
you're most welcome..
as long as it's a ring, you can make polvoron. Make sure you press it tight then remove it from the ring and then chill it before wrapping.
