Aunty, this is the recipe I wanted to try out from the book I asked you the other day. The recipe asks for 450 ml coconut milk. May I know whether you used the thick or thin one? If u use the thin one, how much water did you add? Thanks a lot aunty.
These are so cute and looks yummy as well. Are these made from rice flour or glutinous rice flour? I suppose the white layer is made fm coconut milk? Could u post the recipe also? Thanks shirlyn
For nonya kueh, it depends on whether you like to eat thick coconut milk or thinner coconut milk? If you like thick, you can use all thick. For me, I use 3 parts thick coconut and 1 part water. If you don't like this formula, u can use 1/2 water and 1/2 coconut milk. You must make this...it's very very nice and chewy. rgds
Thanks you very much. I must go and find this book. I think 'Tarts my Heart' need to sit on the book shelf for another one more months. Need to try this and Mango Mochi first.
aunty, may I know what is the effect of adding a little bit of alkaline water into nyonya kuih such as this sweet potato kuih? Does it become more bouncy and chewy in texture? jiawen

Hi jiawen,
yes the alkaline water will make the nonya kueh more chewy and bouncy (with a slight cruch too).
