Hi wombat,

If using silpat, no need to spray water. A lot of ppl suggested the spraying water. Initially I did that but later on I was too lazy to do that anymore. It comes off easily.

I've tried making without silpat mat. Just using non-stick tray. It works well too.

Hi Aunty,
Do you use Rose extract or Rose water for the buttercream flavoring?

Hi cyndi,

I used the concentrated "Rose Syrup" which is specially made for cakes. Not those cordial type.

Hi Aunty,
Not sure whether is the same one that I have. I bought this bottle of "Rose Water" from Dempsey Road Grocery (I know Sun Lik carry the same too) but has not tried it out yet.

Hi HomeBaker,

did you buy it from Culina? The one I bought was from Anna Phua. It has a light tinge of pink (transparent look) with some rose petals inside.

Hi Aunty,
Mine is transparent in color (just like plain water)...hmmm sounds interesting to have rose petal in it...think I will go down to take a look..I always refrain from buying too many interesting "ingredients" before having in mind what I want to do with it...otherwise will end up expire and waste $$$ but can't help when I saw them :)

Hi cyndi,

All passionate bakers has the same bad habit of buying something which you don't how to use but scared that you might need it somehow.
