In the morning before I go to office, I will make simple butter cakes and muffins and after work at night, I will bread and other cakes that requires long hours.
I trained my maid to weigh all my ingredients, so it does help a lot.
Oh..this is aluminium type which I bought from Surabaya, Indonesia. Very cheap..not expensive type. Surabaya is a haven for bakers. There's lots of baking utensils and ingredients selling there.
I didn't finish it by myself. Today I donated them to "Pelangi House" which is an acitvity hub for mental ppl. They take it during Tea Time and moreover, it's "Chap Goh Mei" today.
After reading your blog recently. I am so impressed. Thought of taking up some baking courses. Any recommendation? What you think of Baking Institute in Keppel Rd. ( for you inform I am in my late forties is it too late to pick up the hobby?)
Aunty, If you are free, do you mind to take the photo of your moulds(special shape) and post it here, I love all your cakes in unique mould. Thank you.
A hobby can start even at the age of 60. 40+ ....no problem. I can understand that normally at this age, you'll start a hobby because by this time, all th children are grown up and you have nothing to do.
I know you are referring to BITC at Keppel road. That's a good place to learn and if you take certain courses, you'll be given certificates too.
For small cakes, you can learn it from Judy Koh of Creative Culinaire at Eng Hoon Street, Anna Phua, BIY, etc
