CNY in Hong Kong

It was terribly cold on the 1st day of the Lunar New Year. One of the coldest days in Hong Kong...8 Degrees...Gosh!!

Mickey Mouse Cookie....

Mango Pudding....

Mickey Mouse Buns.....

3-colour Nian Kao

Krispy Kreme in Hong Kong....doughnuts in the shape of the Mandarin Orange.

Walnuts, Chestnuts and Gingko Nuts...all piping hot and it was absolutely wonderful when you pop it into your mouth in that cold weather. I've always loved the chestnuts in Hong Kong, big and very fluffy.

mmm....there's some kind of sale going on....

Hi Aunty Yo,

Sorry late wishes but Happy CNY to u & family. The nuts are combi rite? The light brown looks like walnuts?

Thanks Nur,

yes they are walnuts. No need to use a nut cracker or between knees with a dash of Stout. Just put 2 walnuts in your hands and press it and one of the walnuts will crack easily.

Hi Putupiring,

Yes I did enjoyed myself tho it's just a short trip, brush and go. Wanted to meet Florence but got no time.

We were not prepared for it and did not get thick thick clothes. Woah....I wouldn't like the -27C. My coldest was -12 and I hated it. Couldn't walk for me and all my nice clothes are hidden inside my jacket. Urgh....pp....do you like the -27C??? My skin becomes dry and itchy.

Come and join us - the sunny island of Singapore.

Rgds.

zjwlewdzHi Yochana,
Noooo I hate the -20 somethings. Getting too old for this. Gone are the days when my cousins and I used to eat icecream in this weather and walk about town..
One thing about winter is that your nice clothes get all crumpled under the coats thats why I only wear a T-shirt under my coat . Definitely not for people, from nice warm countries. I get itchy from climate back home LOL

Hi Aunty,
Hope you have a really very nice & enjoyable holiday in Hong Kong. It is really nice to enjoy yourself with family during CNY in Hong Kong. All the best and very nice of you to share all your good creative work & bakes. Your Traditional Fatt Koh is really soft & nice. Can you please put up the recipe? Thank again.
