Dear Aunty Yochana,
I am so inspired to bake as beautifully as you but this is my first time at baking ;-)
I would like to try to steam the horlicks layer cake this Tues. MayI know what do you mean by lining the pan? Is it laying it with parchment paper or greasing the pan with butter, etc? Thanks.

Just use greasproof paper or silicone paper, place the tin on top of the paper and trace the base then cut it out. Normally I never line the sides unless i make fruitcakes.
