Hello Aunty Yochana, any tips on getting so many flaky layers like you have done? I followed your recipe but did not achieve as many layers as you.

HIya Yochana,

Do u bake or fried these mooncakes? Do u have any idea what is the appropriate time of storing it? thanks

oh ya, what type of yam should we choose?

Hi,

These mooncakes are fried. What I normally do is to keep them in the fridge or freezer if I want to keep it longer. I will rebake it before consuming it. It will become crispy again.

Always choose big and light Yam.

Hi anonymous.

I've eaten these mooncakes before. Last year my Indonesian neighbour so many to me. It's just like our flaky layered mooncakes and I think ours taste better.

hi prettysue,

Just wondering why must this recipe be halal? It's only yam and I used crisco which is vegetable shortening.

Hi,

Can I bake the flaky mooncake instead of frying them, coz frying is kind of oily.
