I have Ariston and Eka ovens. Eka is from Malaysia - Italian technology but made in Taiwan I think, not so sure but I like this cos it has separate controls for upper heat and lower heat.
Pardon me if this question seems a bit silly, on what occasions will the need for separate controls of upper & lower heat arise ? I notice this is quite common in taiwanese recipe books whereby separate controls are used.
I normally use top and bottom heat for normal cakes and bottom heat for my tarts and for anything that doesn't brown very fast at the bottom, I will switch the mode to bottom heat only.
Dear Yochana, I have not heard of EKA ( I m from KL ),is it a commercial type of oven ? Did u buy it in Malaysia and where please ? I love the way all your cakes brown so evenly ! Cheers & happy baking

I am amazed with your butter cakes.
My butter cake is always soggy/oily at the bottom. For such a basic and simple cake to make, mine is always a disaster.
Do you mind sharing the tips of making a yummy-looking butter cakes like yours?
