Hi Aunty, nice bakes..i'm new to you as i'm one of those silent fans that sure log to yr blog almost everyday. Peifu you for yr passion & persistent to do so many bakes. i'll continue to support and keep trying to improve and upgrade my skill , i'm always failure in bakes..

i've tried yr H. Kaya recipe today using bread machine but:( turned to egg custard..ha..ha..failure..do you know why?'cause i don't have a d. boiler..and i think 500 gm sugar is too sweet for me. Pls enlighten..
You don't need to buy a special double boiler. Just put the kaya into a small pot. then put the small pot into a bigger pot with simmering water , close both covers and stir once awhile.
You can cut down the sugar to your taste but I must warn you that cutting down too much sugar will turn into custard rather than kaya. Kaya is supposed to be a kind of egg Jam.
I would love it if you could share me this recipe? that is if you dont mind? I love lemon and tried to make a lemon cake for mom on mothers day...but it tasted like sour lollies T _ T But I still keep trying~ ... ; . ;

Hi Lucy Wow, I was out of town for a week and so much has happened! I may not know you personally but through the few exchanges we had, I think you are a very generous person in sharing your knowledge. I respect your decision and I'm sure all your supporters feel the same. Don't worry about the nutcase - he/she's probably off her medication or in need of a prescription. Do continue to share your bakes; they are always my source of inspiration. And I will always be 'buay keh ki' and bug you if I need any opinions/advice... Can?... :)

Using your recipe, I had tried butter cake (very light unlike other butter cakes),light fruit cake (Taste wonderful) and will be trying out kaya and chiffon cakes too. Please do not bother about what others said as long as you enjoy what you are doing. Please count me in whenever you like to share your recipes. Thanks in advance.
