Hi Aunty, already very hungry. Looking at your Macaroons made me even more hungry now.

Do you have any Orange Macaroons recipe to share??

Wow, Aunty Lucy! You've baked so many different flavoured macarons in just a few days and they have really nice feet especially the hazelnut ones. You've inspired me to try making pistachio macarons!

Hi Karen,

When I manage to inspire someone to bake...that's like striking 4D for me. Do try the macaroons...it's amazing when she see the feet appearing in the oven. I know you can make it, you're pretty good in baking. Kudos!!

Hi Yochana, can you please tell me the secret to getting the "feet" to form? I have tried many times and failed.

Thanks in advance,

Aunty Yochana,

Beautifully done and amazing color!
What size are your macaroons? Did you have to draw circle on parchment first before piping? I have tried Pierre's recipe but they were small about 11/2" once baked and piped 2" but it deflated after baking, what did I do wrong?

Cheers.

Dizzy,

I used the same book as you by Pierre Herme. I piped into 1 1/4" round and it will spread slightly and becomes 1 1/2" after baking. I like this size cos it's very sweet and unable to take such a big piece though. Macaroons are very subjective... sometimes out of the blue it fails. Anyway, deflated macaroons is very common and I can't explain why it happens.

I don't draw circles though you can do that to get even sizes. I just pipe it out free hand.
