Baileys Coffee Liquer Cheese Tarts




Tart Shell:

130 gm. Butter
130 gm. icing sugar
1 egg
330 gm. plain flour - sifted

Filling:

375 gm. cream cheese
100 gm. icing sugar
1 1/2 eggs
1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa powder mix with 1 1/2 Tbsp. hot water
3 Tbsp. Baileys coffee Liquer

Method:

(1) For tarts shell, cream butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.
(2) Add in eggs and then pour in the plain flour and mix till a pliable dough is formed. Chill in the fridge for 30 mins.
(3) Press dough into tart mould and bake in preheated oven at 175C for 15 mins. or lightly brown. Remove from oven.
(4) For fillings, cream cream cheese and icing sugar till creamy. Add in egg and cream until smooth. Divide cream cheese mixture into 2 portions. Pour 1 portion of cream cheese mixture into baked tart shell.
(5) Mix another portion of cream cheese mixture with cocoa powder mixture and baileys coffee liquer. Pour mixture onto the white cream cheese filling, using a teaspoon. Can use a skewer to slightly swirl a bit for a marble effect.
(6) Bake in preheated oven of 175C for 20 to 25 mins. or until cheese is set.
(7) Can either server warm or chilled.

Wonder if i can use Kahlua instead of Baileys? Will there be much difference? Tq

Hi Mei,

yes you can use Kahlua. The difference is...the taste is different of course. Baileys has a very fragrant smell and taste whereas Kahlua is slightly more bitter in taste and nonetheless, it shouldn't make much difference.
