hi yochana, is this made with soya bean?? :-) if so, u can replace the peanuts & taugeh with 'ku chai' & put a prawn on top.. :-) it's yummy.. but i've yet to be able to master the making of the round shape!!

Hi glory,

the one that I posted is for making rempeyeh and I also tried using the soup ladle. The one for rempeyeh is thinner and the soup ladle is thicker. I also have another ladle, bronze with a long thin stalk and a wooden handle used for making the traditional fuzhou oyster pie - using fresh oyster and grounded soya bean paste , the one that you mentioned. It's been sometime I've made them cos I have to soak my soya beans and then blend them finely. Will try to do it again soon.

BTW, are you a hock chiew?

Hi Yochana,

I have 2 bottles of Fuzhou red wine made by a good friend(a Fuzhou)'s mom. I feel so bad to open them, as I feel they are precious.
Are you a Fuzhou? What is the name of this Fuzhou style oyster pie?

Agnes,

I'm not a fuzhou but I'm a Hainanese. I think when I learn they just called it Fried Oyster cake..I will dig out my recipe and try to make it again. In SG, we can buy them from "Maxwell Market".

No point keeping the red wine. Good to cook it with chickens.

Have a nice day.
