Hi Lucy, all your bakes look fantastic as usual!

Just wondering... between the green pea cookie recipe you already posted and this one (from Y3K is it?), which one did you prefer? What is the difference in texture between the 2?

Thank you!

alyssa,

both are equally good. I can't tell which is better unless both cookies are in front of me and I taste both at the same time.

Nevertheless, this green peas cookies which I made today is nice too...can use lah...

Thanks Lucy for sharing this recipe, I am sure gonna try this. Lucy, do you know if Phoon Huat sells the green peas? Are they already grounded?

Diana,

I bought the green peas flour from Ng Ming Huat, J.B.

You can buy the green pea snacks that we eat. Just blend it fine and it's the same as those in Ming Huat.

Hi Lucy,

I baked some last week. I bought the Camel brand of green peas and pounded it fine. The taste is great but I found the cookie a little hard not melting.

Hi Diana,

I think you did not pound your green peas fine enough. This cookie is not hard...

You can also buy the ready blended green pea flour from Ng Ming Huat (JB). It's very fine..

where can i find groundnut oil? can i substitute it with something else like corn oil? will it affect the taste? pls advise..

Hi,

Groundnut oil - Knife brand or Cock's brand. You can use cornoil if you want to, it works as well.

Hi Lucy - I've asked my friend to buy for me the green pea flour from Ng Ming Huat (NMH) last weekend but she came back with green bean flour. I don't think it is the right flour but she told me the sales assistants in NMH insisted that that's the only type of green pea (bean) flour they have in their store :( Any suggestion what can I do with the green bean flour?

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi cherrinotes,

Green pea flour is green in colour and green bean flour is more brownish in colour.

You can buy the green peas snacks that we normally buy from supermarkets. Blend it in a food processor. I prefer to do this way because it's more fragant, fresh and delicious.

Thanks a great deal, Lucy. This recipe is good. My husband & toddler finished the entire jar within 3 days. For a melt-in-the-mouth texture, I chopped up the peas using my machine for abt 5 mins. For me, I like the cookies but find them a little on the sweet side. Do you think I could simply reduce the sugar or should I reduce the sugar and at the same time add some cornstarch in its place? Thanks :)

Hi anonymous,

no need to add in extra constarch. Just cut down the sugar to your taste will do.

Hi yochana,
the cookies sure look good. If I blend the snack green peas, would it be oily? and do i need to remove the skin first?thanks

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi anonymous,

don't worry...it won't be so oily.

hi auntie. can i ask u somethin?
i tried baking this cookie, using my new oven. but my cookie turned out to be overcooked (blacked) at e bottom. while baking , muz i put a layer of baking paper or alumunium? and tt the mixture dough is abit loose.. so i put in e fridge to let it become harden, wat could haf gone wrong? sorrie to trouble u

Aunty Yochana said...

hi anonymous

buy the green peas for snacks type from NTUC and blend.
If you find the mixtur too crumbly, add in extra oil.

Your oven's bottom heat is too hot, move the tray 1 shelf higher.

Hi Auntie,
Is the mixture suppose to be crumbly or in a dough? I have the baked it just now with crumbly texture and it turn out ok but I was wondering whether the after bake texture will be different if I add in more oil?
