Walnut Bread


Walnut bread


Ingredients:

350 gm. Bread flour
60 gm. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. instant yeast
1/2 tsp. salt
180 gm. fresh milk
1 no. egg yolk
1/2 Tbsp. coffee paste
50 gm. margarine

100 gm. walnuts
80 gm. raisins

For glazing: 1 egg - lightly beaten

for topping: some white sesame seeds

Method:

(1) Mix all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix for 2 mins. before pouring in the fresh milk and egg yolk.
(2) Pour in fresh milk and egg yolk and beat for 10 mins.
(3) Add in margarine and coffee paste and beat for another 5 mins. Laastly add in walnuts and raisins and let it mix lightly till combined.
(4) Remove dough from mixer, roll into a round ball and let it rest for 45 mins.
(5) Divide dought into 3 pcs. Roll into round balls and leave to rest for 10 mins.
(6) Roll the round dough with a rolling pin flat and then cut 6 slits on the dough.
(7) Leave dough to proof again for another 45 mins or till double in size.
(8) Glaze buns with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
(9) Bake at 180C for about 20 - 25 mins.
(10) Leave onto wire rack to let it cool.
