Aunty Yo, how you make the fondant design? Do you have mould for that? Aiyo, cannot take my eyes off from those beautiful creation. Just keep staring at it, but sayang lah if want to it.
Auntie, what other types of cake besides fruit cake are suitable for fondant covering? Your cakes are beautiful but I am not sure if I can do it. Not so good with hands.
How come? When it's hot, no wrinkles and it takes a few hours to get wrinkles...Put into a container. Someone made the same buns are yours but no wrinkles leh..I saw the photos in Jo's Deli.
Are your buns soft? If soft, a few wrinkles shouldn't matter. Afterall, it's all homemade buns.

Hi Irene,
that's why I used fruit cake. Can last longer and I will see till I'm sick then I'll slice it and wallop.
The designs on the covering the cake is done by using rollers with designs.
Can buy from Chong Trading at The Adelphi, Coleman street, 2nd floor.

jas,
fruit cakes can keep longer and if you want to make for birthday cakes - you can use a butter cake or madiera cake,

I dont know why it gets so weird...is it becos I brushed butter on top of it??? The bun is very soft
May,
maybe because of your butter but I sometimes brush my buns with butter also but it doesn't wrinkle.
Practice makes perfect. You try again and this time you don't apply butter and see what happens.
Happy baking.
