Christmas Cane Cookies


Ingredients:

250 gm. Butter
100 gm. icing sugar
350 gm. Plain flour
1/2 tsp. of peppermint essence
red and green colouring

Method:

(1) Cream butter with icing sugar till creamy.
(2) Add in plain flour and mix into a pliable dough. Divide dough into 2 portions. Add peppermint essence and green colouring ionto one portion and add red colouring into the other portion. Keep in the fridge for about 20 mins. for easy handling.
(2) Pinch a small piece of dough from each colour and roll into a long strip and twist them together. Curve at one end into a letter "J". Place onto baking tray.
(3) Bake at 160C for about 15 mins or till cooked.

hi aunty, doesn't this recipe need any soda?

hi jeena,

no soda nor baking powder. Doesnt want the cookie to puff up and lose it's shape.
