  5. Hi Yochana,

I want to try your "chendol agar-agar mooncake". I bought a packet of chendol, do we add the whole packet or throw away the water, only use the chendol strips? Base on the recipe, how many pieces it will turn out?
    Please advise. Thanks

  10. Hi aunty,

Based on ur recipe, i throw everything in from the start to make the filling. It become green colour because of the green chendol unlike urs in pic. Shld we only put in when water boil?

Next, thinking the chendol is prepacked in a sweet syrup, when i 1st try on it...almost wanted to throw away the newly bought pack cos it actually tasted abit salty. but after reading the ingredients on the package, it doesn't indicate sugar added. So i presume it is so? =p

  11. Hi aunty,
how many does this recipe yields? mine only yields 8 pieces. the filling comes out more than the skin. i made twice in 2 days, cos not enough for my kids. this recipe is a keeper. next year, i'll try my hands on the flaky mooncakes.

  13. Hi Aunty Yochana,

I've tried this recipe cos I just love the look of chendol contrast with the white filling :)

When I let the fillings mixture set in chwee kueh moulds, most of the chendol sank to the bottom, how come urs is floating throughout? Did u chop them up to smaller pcs?

The taste was nice, thanks :)

  14. Hi Kristie

No I did not chop them up. Make sure your fillings are not too hot before u throw in the chendol.

Oh u mean we can add the chendol to the mixture after it's cooled slightly? I followed the recipe and poured everything in a pot to boil!
