Hi Lucy,

Your bakes are always beautifully done and I am sure they taste just as good too! The amboon reminds me of another kueh that is black in color. I was told its called honeycomb cake. Do you happen to have this recipe? I hope you have it and give it a try?
I have tried a few recipes but have yet to find one that is close to the one they are selling in some cakes shops.

So if i just take the sugar, water and butter (not cooking it), and add it to the egg mixture. Will we get bingka ambon?

did you add any coconut milk in this recipe?

Aunty, instead of baking them in small pans, can we bake them in big trays like 7 x 10? will the beehive can still be seen? I've tasted the best ambon from Indonesia. Cant get them anymore.

Hi dill,

I've not tried the 7" x 10" size. You can try....

Dear Aunty Yochana,

Could I please have your recipe for the Bingka Ambon? My Dad just loves this cake.

Whenever I am in Singapore, I will buy some from Bengawan Solo.

If I have the recipe I could prepare it for my Dad!

I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
