Hi Aunty Yochana,

Have a couple of question to ask you..
- Where to buy Hoen kwe flour..? How does it looked liked..?
- Use smooth or crunchy Peanut butter..?
- What brand did you used for the agar agar powder..? Is those without colourings and flavours..?
- Where did you bought the thick coconut milk and chocolate paste..?

For step 2:
(2) Cook agar-agar powder, sugar and water together till boiling.
- Does it mean that I have to put everything together and boil it or do I have to boil the water before I put the agar agar powder and sugar in..?

Wanted to try this for CNY..
Please email me at shirlynkoh@hotmail.com

Hear from you soon..!
Thanks..!

Hi Lucy,

In your recipe you mentioned that 150 gm. thick coconut milk is needed.. Sorry but isn't coconut milk is 'liquid' and why do you use 'gram' when a gram is a unit of weight and a millilitre is a unit of volume..?

Or should I convert in this way..?
1 gram = 0.001 Liter
150 gram = 0.015L
0.015L = 150ml

Hi Aunty,

I couldn't find chocolate paste. Can I use Nutella to replace it? Or what other choice do I have? Cocoa powder?

TQ,
Gina

Hi Lucy,

When I add in chocolate paste and stir, should I switch off the fire?

hi gina,

nutella is a hazelnut paste, it's up to you .

Just stir in the cocoa powder if you are using it.

As for the 'thick coconut milk', I cannot find any in NTUC.
There is only 'Coconut creme' and 'Coconut milk'.. I asked the aunties and they told me that they are similar..
Which one should I use..? The 'creme' or the 'milk' type..?

Gina

Oh Gosh gina...no wonder it's so tough to teach you.

The recipe is very easy and straight.

You must read the recipe properly before asking me questions.

I have mentioned in (1) ...that water is mixed too , so you can sieve it.

I guess you have to ask your mum to teach you. You mum should be able to tell you about coconut milk, rice flour, hoen kwee flour, etc etc. She should know something. So sorry, but I'm having headache with your questions.

Aunty,

If I had a mum I won't be asking you all these already. I have lost my mum when I wan borned.

Gina,

Of course you can substitute with milk if you don't like coconut milk. Evaporated milk will be a better choice.
