Golden Mouse 2008

A couple of days ago I was chasing a mouse in my kitchen with my maid and did not manage to catch it. I overheard my daughther laughing away at our comical sight and her friend, Wilson over the internet, asked us to roast it in the oven. So here it is ....the 40 Golden Rats....

  1. The little golden mouse looks extremely cute and I bet they are yummy too! Do you mind to share the recipe as the Year of the Rat is coming up next week? That would be awsome to serve this "roast rat" as dessert dish at the New Year feast.
    Thanks much in advance.

  18. Hi Aunty,
These are so cute. I was watching Channel 8 last nite and they are introducing where to source for CNY cookies and pastry and saw Smiliing Orchid make the similar Meringue mouse cookies.

  19. Dear Aunty Yochana

The insides of your mouse cookie looks layered.
May I know if you used the Oil & water dough method to achieve the
flaky look or just the butter creaming method.
Anyway, the golden mice look charming. All the best for the year of the Golden Rat.
