Wholemeal Biscuits




Ingredients:

200 gm. Butter
200 gm. caster sugar
270 gm. Plain flour
100 gm. wholemeal flour
30 gm. toasted sesame seeds - blended into powder form
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Method:

(1) Cream butter with sugar.
(2) Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix till it becomes a dough.
(3) Roll dough to about 1/4 thick and then use a round cutter to cut it out. Lay onto baking tray.
(4) Bake at 175C for about 15 to 20 mins.
(5) Cool on cooling rack and then store in airtight containers.

Wow, looks yummy...It's healthy cookie..Are they hard or rough as using wholemeal? i got 1 pkt at home and no open..i want to use for bread but hestiate as afraid rough texture..Anuty , can u post this recipe? i want the kids to taste it for healthy snacks..

hi aunty yochana,

i would like to try yr wholemeal biscuit but one problem.

"cream" the butter, does this mean use the mixter to beat the buuter till white creamy. i tried this method but my cookies turned to cake texture.

Can advise where i go wrong?

Don't cream too long for cookies.

tks for yr advise. can i try using hand whisk to cream the butter?

what kind of flour can i substitute for wholemeal flour. can get this flour easily and need small amount only.

Esther,

use normal plain flour. You have to add plain flour to the wholemeal flour.

someone plz help i am trying to make these biscuits but they dont come out right, i am having trouble getting the right thickness of the dough also are these biscuits healthy as they have a lot of plain flour, butter, sugar plz help cheers

Hi freddy,

Oh..don't worry, just roll to your liking. Take a ruler to measure the height then the rest will be agak agak.
