Aunty Yochana said...

hi mummy to QiQi,

which cupcakes are you referring to? If you mean the overflow of the cupcakes, fill the batter slightly more than 3/4.

Hi Karen,

How many it yields depends on the size of your muffin cups. With my muffin pan, I managed to get about 13 to 14 pieces.

Hi Yochana,

Do we need a muffin tray or just pour the mixture into the muffin cups? Your picture look like small muffin cups, right?
Thanks

Hi Yochana,

Oreo biscuits with cream or without cream? If I don't want to add oreo biscuits what can I add?
Thanks

anonymous

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi anonymous.

oreo with cream or without cream does not make a difference. Both can be used...

I personally like it with cream.

Hi anonymous,

For this cake, I used papercups with a muffin pan.

You can use the stand alone muffin cups if you don't have a muffin tray.

Hi Yochana,

You said fill slightly more than 3/4 cup, muffin pan or paper cup? My paper cups are higher than my muffin pan. Pls. advise, thanks

Hi,

I think your muffin pan are the short type. Buy some shorter paper cups.

Whether it's paper cups or muffin cups, fill it to just above half of the cup and if you want a mushroom shape, fill to 3/4 of the cup will do.

Hi Yochana,

Thanks for your advise, I will try again to fill up to 3/4 full.
Thank you

Hello Aunty, i've try this many times and it turned out great!!! Sometimes i bake for friends too, but some of them can't eat, since they are religious Buddhist(vegetarian) and they don't even eat BUTTER. Can i use margarine instead? And is there any different taste if i use margarine?
Thank you.

Aunty Yochana said...

Oh yes Fanny,

Hi Aunty Yochana

I tried baking this yesterday but it turned out to be quite oily. Is it ok to cut down the amount of butter used? (what would happen to any cake if there's too little butter?)
Apart from that it didn't look as good as yours but tasted fabulous anyway. thanks! :)

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi Laurane,

You probably have creamed the butter too long causing it to turn oily.

Aunty Yo,

I want to bake some of these cupcakes, but my oreo biscuits' fillings are the choco and peanut butter variety, okay to use? or shd i just use the biscuits w/o the fillings?

Aunty Yochana said...

hi erica,

choco and peanut butter flavour will make a wonderful cupcakes...as for the fillings, it's up to u whether you want to add in or not. Omit it if you don't like it too sweet.

Hi aunty yo

guess wat, i couldn't wait 4 yr reply cos i realised u had a baking class 2day (and it seemed that u had a great party!), so i went ahead with the choco and peanut butter oreo, including the fillings, and it turned out great! The little ones at home absolutely lurve them! tks for the recipe aunty yo!

Hi Aunty Yochana,

My muffins do not turn out the kind of golden brown at the top like yours. How do I improve? Although the appearance isn't there, they tasted nice! Great recipe! (:

Pepper

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi Pepper,

Did you cut down the sugar? If you did, then it will not caramelize so well. It will not be too brown but they are actually cooked through. bring up the tray higher to the heating elements and they will become more brown.

Hi Aunty Yochana,

Yes, indeed I cut down the sugar as I added chocolate chips instead of raisins. Thought it would be too sweet. But thanks! I will improve on it the next time (:

Hi yochana,

I realised the cupcakes that I made is not fluffy but very densed. Any idea the reason why? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Hi,

The cupcakes that i made were very dense and not fluffy and soft. Can you advise me what could have gone wrong? Thanks.

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi,

You probably could have overmixed the batter.

Hi Aunty Yochana,

when u use the oreo biscuits, u added it in together with the chocolate cream on the biscuits as well into the cupcake batter ? thanks

Aunty Yochana said...

Hi Jessica,

I took off the chocolate cream and then chop it.

Hi aunty yochana,

do you actually add in the eggs,
one at a time?
or you whisk all the 4eggs all at one go?

Thanks :)

hi aunty yochana,

I tried these today, taste turn out great, except that colour was pale. Couldn't see that it was oreo at all : p
