hi aunty lucy,

is there ice-cream sandwiched in between each layer? how do u do that? do u wait for the ice-cream to soften? do you keep the cake in the freezer? won't the layer of cakes be hardened in the freezer?

i am just so curious....

Hi anonymous,

yes I used the real ice-cream except that I mix into the batter so no need to worry about melting. Hahaha...

HI anonymous,

For Non-Dairy cream, after opening it, keep the balance in the freezer and it can be kept till you finish it.

As for Dairy whipping cream that contains 35% fat, do not freeze. After opening, use it by a week cos it turns bad after that.

Hi anonymous,

Kek lumut is not supposed to be too spongy , it's between spongy and dense. The first time I made it was not so good cos it's too dense. The second time I did was really very good...and the taste is wonderful.

Hi Aunty,

Where can I get non-diary whipping cream?
Can I subsitute the non-diary whipping cream with diary one? Will there be much difference?

Its hard to find the non-diary whipping cream.

Thanks,

Hi angeline,

You can buy non-dairy whipping cream called "Value Pride" or "Rich" from Sun Lik or you can use Pour N Whip. You can replace it with non-dairy whipping cream depending on what you are making. Non-dairy whipping cream is good for creaming the cake whereas dairy whipping cream is not suitable for creaming but good as a filling..very delicious.
