Lucy,
Delicious Wa Kueh, one of my favourite since I was a kid.
Can you teach me how to do the bean paste sauce?

Kellie,

I bought these bowls to make "Loh Mai Kai' more than 2 1/2 decades ago. I can't even remember where I bought them. Don't know where to buy now.

Hi sue,

this wa kueh has dried shrimps, mushrooms and some mince meat in the paste. It's a bit Q Q when you bite into. Got to eat with the special bean sauce.

Kellie, you're most welcome.

What is this Wa Kueh? Does it taste like Chwee Kueh?
I'm a hokkien, but never seen such things in my family.

Hi Angeline,

This wa kueh is not the same texture as the chwee kueh. It's more Q Q - bouncy feeling when you bite into . Some more there are fillings inside the paste and on top some fillings too and some beaten egg.

Aunty,
I din know there's hokkien wa kueh. All this while, I only know chwee kueh. I think I must be a lousy hokkien after all.

Hi Aunty Lucy, can you teach me how to make this hokkien wa kueh? Ever since my late grandma passed away, and the stall at bt. merah closed down, I can't seem to be able to find wa kueh. My mum been craving for this. I though it will be nice if I am able to make this for her to eat. Thanks!
